In the last time I did not post many updates of my project, but I try to change that now and blog a bit more regular.
Currently I'm working on the second release of my game.
I finished most tasks I wanted to be done for version 0.02 for example: Added more SFX, sound effects, ambient sounds, particle and decal effects and created some items that can be picked up, like medpacks and ammo items and placed them around the map to give a bit more variation to the deathmatch gameplay. Also I added some simple models, like crates and barrels, every shooter needs generic crates and stuff.
Now there is two problems left I currently have:
1. Issues: I came across many issues in the game or Torque in general, most issues relate to the template.
I write them all down and post them as issues on my repository: https://github.com/Duion/Uebergame/issues maybe someone wants to look through and see if he already has solutions to some issues, I do not demand others to do coding, but maybe someone knows a resource for that already or a quick solution. The fixes can also be used for the main repo or by others peoples, everything stays open source and benefits all in the end, I just focus on getting a game running.
2. Playtesting: Testers are always needed, I changed my project so that people can now fork/clone the repo and play straight out of it, this makes it easier to fix things on the fly and test again. To be able to test the game you just need to clone/fork the actual branch ( https://github.com/Duion/Uebergame/tree ... evelopment ) and download the executable from: http://www.duion.com/files/temp/Uebergame_0.02_test.exe and put it in the folder and you are ready to go.
Many normal people do not understand the git workflow right away, so I hope for some a bit more experienced people to do the testing.
