This is strange, I added this to vehicleWheeled.cs in scripts/server to see what was happening and it only registers if I hit AIPlayer, Bouncy Rocks, AITurrets but not TSStatic shapes. I have to say that the AI is some of the best I've ever played with and the sheer amount of work that Bryce put into the kit is mind-numbing. The weapons pack is insane too. I am working on a game using the AI kit.

Perhaps you could use a Raycast with TypeMasks? This link covers a fake melee attack but perhaps the basic idea could be applied, without the weapon of course.
