I released my port of lightmapper to bgfx yesterday which is a step towards lightmapping: https://github.com/andr3wmac/lightmapper_bgfx

There are a few bugs to fix that I'm working on though I may switch gears and focus on animations and character controller in the mean time while I'm waiting on responses from people regarding my lightmapper/bgfx issues.

No, the last thing I heard from him was that he tried to bribe the admins in the IRC channel to ban me and when they refused to be corrupted, he left as a protest, so I guess he will never come back.

Unfortunately, yes andrew did get really upset in irc one day, and ended up leaving in a huff and as since opted to not return.

The subforum will stay here for useful reference, because andrew did work on some pretty neat stuff, but I think it can largely be considered a ceased project.

I will note that if there was anything in particular he was working on for T6 you felt was especially compelling, feel free to mention it and we'll make note of it for T3D. Several things he was looking into, we've since implemented, or are looking to roll in. So if something peaks your interest of the stuff he was working on, feel free to make a note about it.
