What is mathjax.org ?

I noticed this website loads stuff from https://www.mathjax.org/ , what is it good for?
Is this some fancy complicated math plugin for this forum?

Yeah, I can see that apparently something is going wrong, but the idea was that you would be able to write LaTeX and get it rendered. Useful for math-discussions.

MathJax is awesome, though I don't think I've actually ever seen anyone use it here before.

Well, I did mention it in a post, but that was ages ago and I guess it doesn't show in the editor or anything.

Also since it is not working for some reason, no wonder people don't use it :P
